The sweetness of this song is the result of lata ji's sweet voice and excellent tune set by Salil Chowdhury. Salil da's music is uniquely sweet. I agree with "pbhowmik1". Salil da was not properly recognized because there are very few good listeners of songs in india.

You are right, salil da is like full of got gifted tallent. but its really unfortunate that he was not being given the due respect, what he actually deserves. But in some interview of Lata ji, she mentioned him the best music director among all she had been worked for.You guys can get an clear idea of his sweet melodious music in some other films too - Madhumati, Anand, Choti si Baat, Parakh, Maya, Chhaya and many others....

Salil da was never a normal person I mean he never used notes or instruments in conventional way every thing goes haywire and criss cross and yet it sounds full of soul and life, what a composer..!! He was very very intelligent.

what a brilliant rendition by Lata. Just check how she stops word by word when she sings the line - "Adhikaar ye jab se saajan ka..." These are what I call moments of truth for a singer. They give it personal touch unique to them and demonstrate their mastery and ability to put emotions in their voice...absolute gem

Oh gosh! all this while i have been thinking am a modern and stylish dude, but the melody of this song in particular moved me a little. My fear now is that am turning into an old fashion geek and before i know it, ill wake up in bell-bottoms and big collars 70's style colorful wear *oh shit* |
