A couple people in my class are ex-wrestlers and go for lots of single legs so i manage to pull them into this position. I can get everything locked i but they never seem to tap from the submission. Is there any tips for getting the tap once you lock them in the crucifix position?

hmmm isn't this move illegal in some submission competition? so do you know another move that can be added to this transfer?

Yes, the twister is the guillotine in wrestling (without the crank)...JJ Machado started calling it the Twister when Eddie Bravo started using it because the guillotine is a choke in bjj ;-). The cattle catch is a slightly different set up and move but a good one nonetheless!

Isn't this the twister aka the wrestlers guillotine? The crucifix I learned was different. You grip both arms so the head is in your armpit and lean back. Like a reverse full nelson kinda. Start from a sprawl position, sneak one arm under, then the other, clasp your hands, kick our your feet and lean back. Jerry Bohlander used it in an early UFC. I think it is called the cattle catch in BJJ.

Its impossible to learn from a DVD, you have to join a club, these DVDs are just supplements to training. Just like its impossible to learn how to swim by watching someone teach you.

Its under the assumption that he reacts naturally and grabs onto your leg, against more weary people you can pass the arm to the other side and figure four your legs so they cannot get it out, this opens up other options.
