There's only one answer to stevieVantanna's question here...Buy ALL of Herbie's Albums!Start with headhunters.

Mr. Hands is beautiful.Headhunters, Manchild, Thrust and Secrets all must-haves though.Sunlight is his better pop album, Future Shock is the better of his turntable material (though P.Bop on Perfect Machine is liquid gold).

yeah agreed. You gotta throw manchild in there too though. Funky shit

not related at all. THIS Paul Jackson is from Northern Cal, and "Junior" is from Southern Cal. Besides, they're only about 13 or so years apart (not that that means they can't be father and son, but it's not really likely in this case).

What is the the best Herbie Hancock album to buy?I'm more of a rocker, but i like Jeff Beck's fusion and Steely Dan.thanks

Not 'Jnr' (agreed), but I don't believe he is the father of the guitarist Paul Jackson jnr.

1 mistake : Paul Jackson Senior not junior. Paul Jackson Jnr is his son and is a guitar player. =D

The full line up is: Herbie, + Bennie Maupin (Saxes), Ray Obiedo (guitar), Paul Jackson Jnr (Bass), Webster Lewis (Organ), Alphonse Mouzon (drums), Bill Summers (percussion). I saw their concert at the Rainbow Theatre. This was shortly after the release of the 'Feets Don't Fail me Now' album. BTW, at 6.06 mins, Ray obiedo plays the guitar riff from James Brown's 'It's a new day'.

The guy with the cap? It's definitely not Ray Parker Jr or Wah Wah Watson, AKA Melvin Ragin, because they're both black, and the guitarist in this vid is white. The only guy who was on the Man Child album other than Herbie in this performance is Benny Maupin on woodwinds, with the glasses.
