.....the first part of that post was bullshit. There is no proof that she's buddist, nor those it matter. Many people (myself included) regard christmas as an excuse for meeting friends and family, and it is this attuide that has cught on in Japan. Christmas has evolved away from just christians to something that everyone can enjoy, religous beliefs aside.

Because X-mas is a suitable abberviation by the phonetic similarity to Christmas. That andit's much easier to fit on apparel like shirts and the like.
