Actually it was pretty cool - he tried really hard to be someone I could confide in after we lost my Mum, and despite being horrifically embarrassing at times he was always so easy to talk to that even my friends would come to him for advice! He once bought me a book about male puberty called Living with a willy, which was a massive hit at my all-girls' school & ingratiated me with the 6th form girls, who were at that time working their way through the male minefield!
