Well, yeah. Used to be José, but now he's got that Eric Disrude guy, who seems to work pretty well. I'm not sure why he ever got rid of the first dude, though...

You're right, he once told in a commentary on his kit that he wouldn't know how to build it up, and he has José to do it for him, I was wrong :)

dude trust me i've been in music sence i was born and my brothers a tech and my other brother worked a dream theater show and i've been back stage at shows befor if the artist are their their walking around the town or sleeping on the but then they get together for sound check then they go off again then they go back stage and get ready for the show but their most likely out eating or just walking around the town they can mess with it during sound check but they do have to watch them set it up

Nope, they're usually at the venue hours before the kit even arrives. It's my bet that they supervise their own kit themselves too.
