what kind of detector do you use?? Also starting with out your buddie by an hour early? Doesnt seem fair to get a head start on him. Are you still friends?? What is better sand or dirt detecting

Always nice to see Joe making detecting videos! Google CZECH DETECTING TOURS, its for anyone needing a fun, affordable European detecting tour!

i have a tip when you dig for items use a plastic shovel that way you don't scratch the coin/item
ChicagoCubsWS (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Or how to find out how much the item is worth or to keep it or not to keep it. Because me cousin informed me that there are old parts of tractors and other macherney. Any info will help.Thanks.

Oh ok. Also, I am a teenager looking for some info on metal detecting. Treasure hunting has always been one of my dreams to do, but my parents wouldn't let me buy a detector. I am getting one in a week and plan to go on my cousin's "farm" to search around. The farm itself has been around for a long time, and the former owners buried any scrap metal they got, so it will be interesting. Do you have any websites that can give me info about metal detecting? Like how to not damage the items I find.

Nothing really... no one's ever been able to ID it. I tend to think it's just an ornamental piece of some sort.

What did you find out about the copper plaque?

How do you know there's nothing "old"? Research. Go to library, look on line. What's the history of your area? When was it settled? Are there any parks near you? What was the park before it became a park? Old homesteads? Maybe an old Fairground? Street names can be a clue as to what used to be there before houses went up. Try to find old pictures. Talk to some "old timers". Maybe they played someplace as a kid, went to an old swimming hole... etc.Good luck!joe
