You must be confusing him with his ex-wife Winnie for Nelson Mandela had nothing to do with the "necklacing" of people. When Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 27-years for standing up for his people he only talked about reconciliation. No hate or bitterness at all. Such is the greatness of the man! I've grown up in apartheid South Africa and when he was released was the greatest moment in the country's history! So sad that his successor didn't follow his example.

I love this song, but I don't think Nelson Mandela should have been honored this way. He helped tie tyres around peoples necks and set them on fire- it's a horrible truth.

and they also seem to forget that america stole the land from the native americans and killed them off to near extinction in the name of manifest destiny and europe attacked inocent african countries, and took people in captivity to expand their own countries, then took over the countries that were already occupied by free people. if they can forget that, then they can forget that MANDELA took part in guerilla warfare.

It shocked me when i was talking to my friends and they've never even heard of Nelson Mandela! I couldnt believe it but i guess well this whole celebration just moved me just his greatness and he made it to 90 i would just be taken back if he made 100 then id have to go! but yeah they were both great and i loved the whole concert!

I'm just enjoying Josh on Youtube and can't believe this is 3 months ago! Oh how I miss him now (I met him the day before this at GMTV studios, my 2nd meeting with him - what a gentleman!).It was a fantastic night and the weather was great. I was honoured to see Mr Mandela and sing Happy Birthday to him.Please come back to the UK soon Josh.Cheers.Angel
