It seems there's an important bit missing at about 0:49...

Most of the series is covered in Life With Jeeves by PG Wodehouse published by Penguin. This book is itself 3 original books under one cover from the 20s and 30s by Wodehouse (which were themselves collections of short stories). He got famous (and rich!) publishing these stories in magazines from about 1915-1935.

I come from a place called Glossop. No wonder he's so pissed about having to marry the girl.

I'm pretty sure that at about 50 seconds in to this episode the film skips and cuts off the rest of the court room scene. I can't exactly remember what Sir Watkyn says, but he does find Bertie guilty of stealing a policeman's helmet and fines him 5 pounds in damages. Bertie is then escorted out. This incident is brought up in later episodes, so I thought I would mention it :)

It just seemed to me that it must have been later, so I looked it up. I remember an interview with Hugh in which he said that the guy who wrote J&W saved him countless times from his recurring depression, just via the comedy. He mentioned that he was thrilled to do J&W after enduring the ups and downs of the business during the 80's, that it was truly healing, but fun as well. You like Black Adder too? I love Rowan Atkinson. Search for Fry, Laurie, and Atkinson. You won't be disappointed. :-)

I stand corrected. Being that he looks so young, I only figured he was doing this the same time Black Adder was being filmed in 1983. I'll do better research next time. |
