We're in the 2000's now, and not getting any younger. The camcorder really hasn't changed much since the early 90's, either. I think it's a violation of technology for the companies not to incorporate shallow depth of field capabilities with their larger, cheaper CMOS sensors. I, for one, am sick of the power to make a nice looking film resting in the hands of major studios.

I see your point, but because of the vast majority of people who want to film their pets, we have: dumbed down webcams with auto-focus (effectively screwing over anyone who wants to animate with one), point and shoot plastic-cams, and crappy cell phone video. |
