death metal is the broad genra and melodic death metal is the subgenre,and as demolitionhammer pointed out the rest of their album does have some butality, but thats why its "melodic" because of the melody in place of the flat. boring. pointless. uninterpretable. gibberish.

Yeah umm.. In Flames used to be good. Not so much anymore. Sad really. For instance, The Jester's race is a great album, especially if you like instrumental tracks, because the ones on there are pretty leet. However, as of late, In Flames has been kind of upsetting. So you should probably rethink your statement and maybe listen to some good music.
