Amen backwards, God Loves the WHOLE world.John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.God Loves the world. One problem was that "God's chosen" people thought He only loved them. That isn't what God told them, just what they chose to believe. Overall, I find that you have a lot of lumping Christians into a single lot, and we are as varied as any group of people. And I happen to be pro-environment.

The most important thing about God is LOVE, but the most important things about Christianity are power, wealth, and never being wrong.I don't need a religion or a book to see and know God. I know God in the natural world and universe. I've seen the perilous situation we've brought the world into by putting carbon into the atmosphere because I'm closer to God than you. You cannot be truly close to God and be blind to the Earth. You are believing a lie.

Christians are being used by the oil companies for political power (votes) to help them take control of the Middle East. Why does Christianity make such a big deal about creationism over evolution? Does it really mean anything about the love of Jesus or God? No. It's a ralleying point, just like abortion, to gather the sheep around. Christians are blindly being led today by unseen forces to do not belong to God because they allow themselves to be brainwashed.

Susie,First I think the most important thing to know about God is that God loves all mankind. The second thing to realize is that man wrote the Bible. The Bible is full of twisted words of destruction. Do you believe in the Ten Commandments for example? Do you ever shop on the Sabbath? If you do then you all people that shop on the Sabbath should be put to death - Exodus 31:15. Your Christian Zionists (far right evangelicals) are promoting the war of Armageddon because they believe Hal Lindsey

I understand your perspective that Chrsitains always think they are right, i know many like this but i also know Christians who are open to different perspectives; but you would be right in accusing me of thinking im right about core aspects of my faith. But i would like to point out that for me, if I am going to put my faith in something I feel that i need to be certain of it otherwise what is the point? Anyway im interested in who you think God is and what it means to be close to God?

I had a university lecturer who i respected who held different views 2 me as reagrads creation BUT we both recognised Gods love for us + the life and grace offered because of his son Jesus, from his death and becoming alive again. This is what unites us and I dont doubt that he is a Chrsitian or think of him as less of a Christian because we hold different views.Tho i recognise there are various aspects 2 Chrsitianity that people debate I do believe there are some aspects that r not debateable.

Backwardsbound, i think thats an interesting perspective and you have highligted alot of issues but i would like to hear more about what you mean by saying "christianity is blind and not close to God at all". Many Christians believe lots of different things as regards science, creation, geology, current global warming, politics, etc. The list is nearly endless. But i would like to think that the most important thing about Christianity is LOVE. Loving God and loving others.

Susie,The oil companies are guilty of crimes against humanity and the Earth. They have lied to us and brought us to this edge of death that we live in today. They have used Christianity to help their deadly purpose. Christians always think they are right. You can't tell them anything different - even with well documented science. Christians would rather listen to this guy, superstitions, and lies about global warming not being real. Christianity is blind and not close to God at all.

Please dont think me rude for interrupting you conversation but I couldnt help noting the passion you both have for what you are talking about. Im a chrsitian and i was wondering what you believe backwardsbound? i noticed that you mentioned Paul and his change to Saul. i was also wondering what brought you to listen to this teaching by Graham Cooke. :)

In 1979 the Exxon Valdez polluted Prince William Sound with the world's largest oil spill ever. They still haven't paid their fine, and today it was reduced from $2 bil to $500 million. That's 1/4. Yesterday top climate scientist James Hansen warned that the earth had passed its tipping point and that CEO's of oil companies are guilty of crimes against humanity. See Democracynow. org. These things are real and they are happening as we speak. I can see it with my own eyes - and so can you. |
