the speech is a LOT different in the book. the movie gets the jist of it...but willie doesnt say hes running for governor, he said hes not going to and marks the state for MacMurfee and will run for governor later.

I know there's alot of hate going on with this movie, but I have to say, I really like this version of the speech better than the b&w version. Penn's performance is powerful and magnetic and so captivating that you forget what the character is really all about. He IS Huey Long in this film. LOL.. I haven't read the book yet but am really wanting to right now. |
