I have to say that I'm really bothered by some of the comments made here. I think it speaks volumes about what an amazing man Ilia is to take on so much responsibility, including raising a child, at such a young age when he could have been having fun being single. Personally, I love watching Katia dancing with Ilia. I remember seeing this program for the first time in 1999 and noticing how happy she looked. I also think it's unbelievably unfair and petty to compare the two relationships.

I'm happy that Katia found love again. But it is just not the same watching her skate with Ilia. G and G were incomparable to me. They were a fairy tale on and off the ice. Katia was lucky to have found Sergei even if she only had him for a short time. As someone else said, they will meet again in heaven some day. Until then, I hope Katia lives a full, rich life. As much as Sergei loved Katia, I'm sure he would have wanted that for her and Daria too.

Thank you for posting this. I loved to watch G & G skate. When I use to watch them skate the three words that came to my mind was, beauty, grace and love and now when I watch Katia and Ilia skate I think of the words, purity, sincerity and sweetness. I do miss watching her and Sergei skate together but at least he's in a place where he can no longer be in pain and one day meet his wife and daughter again and they him. Also it's good that she's found love and joy again.

Ilia doesn't look at Katia much when they skate together~~~ maybe that is just a display that he isn't really use to skating in a pair but still you would think he'd look at her or something. He just sorta has his mouth open and looking everywhere but at Katia.

Funny thing about someone like Ilia, over in America, a male figure skater is almost certainly gay or at least extremely feminine(think Johnny Queer, oops, I mean Weir), but in Russia, male figure skaters and gymnasts are some of the coolest dudes on the block. In Russia, they probably laugh at what girly boys Tom Brady and LeBron James are, or something...

I sit and watch this video and am sad. I watched Sergei and Katia skate and you could see the love and fell the love. I watch these two and he doesn't look at her like Sergei did. She will be with her true prince once again in heaven.
