yes and no, all depends on what your trying to do, some submissions are very handy to have long limbs to pull off, others being shorter is very helpful, Chokes for example are very dangerous if you have short arms, makes the choke much tighter

jiu jitsu was designed for short people, it was the japenese way of defending against enemies bigger and stronger than them.. take them to the ground and exploit natural vulnerabilities

wow thats weird being as your the one that brought the fight to the ground. he is still really not in the dominant position. The reason why its not considered a takedown is because when you jump guard there are so many positions you can end up in open guard, half guard, spider guard etc. unless they somehow jump right to the mount or side mount but then they get points for a reversal

in my tournament submission wrestling u give him points... because he ends up on top.. in gi you don't lose any.. weird
