An English Blues DJ called Mike Raven played Clifton all the time on his show on the BBC in the late 60s when I was at school. Loved it then. Love it now. Got all his records over the years and thanks for posting this. :0)

Over the years I have grown to better appreciate his music and accomplishments. As a close relative and having to hear his name seemilgly everyday, it was a bit overwhelming. But now I understand.

I saw Clifton Chenier and his red and hot Lousianna band live many years ago, and never I`m going to forget that experience, was much more then music, was a trip to the other side of the world, all the music was so piur and wild at the same time.....

I was raised in Kaplan la, and grew up listening to the great clifton chenier, I remember as a lil boy about in the early 70's my granpmother had a dancehall in kaplan, clifton chenier came to play one saturday night, everyone in town was telling her not to have him play because it was a white club, well he came and played, and to this day I have never seen so many people at an establishment in the town of kaplan. You are missed Clifton chenier
