"Supposedly" too often is used as a way of insinuating something is true. The real story is that the Mirror, which had to retract the story when they could not put up the proof they said they had, continued to make up stories about other celebs without being stopped.

Bullettube -I use the word supposedly because I dont know who wrote them and if its legitamate .The sheer number makes me suspect there is something to it .

Supposedly? "Supposedly" is not the same thing as "actually said". Insinuations and gossip should never be confused with the facts.

No, the "Clarkives" as you call them, are nothing more then a collection of essays he wrote about what life would be like in 50 years. He had already done one titled "Life In the 21st Century".

There was no civil war at the time and I would not call the insurgency there now a civil war. Like most authors, he wanted to visit the place that would be the primary setting of the book. As he always had an interest in marine biology he found Sir Lanka a perfect place to do marine research. |
