i use an advent and it is not slow and it doesn't take up much room. my laptop is not top of the range and mine has 69mb anything will work

Does anyone know why they downgraded from this? I first saw this demo a few years ago and my mind melted, but then I got increasingly disappointed with the "progress" Maxis has made since. I bet the computer they're using for the demo is pretty damned fancy, so they might have had to cut down for space/memory reasons, but I still don't understand why they had to give the game a very tame, cartoony appearance.
