MrSifter8, i agree with you also. There is nothing bad with illusionists and magicians, like David Copperfield. They admit its only an illusion, and people still come to the magic shows and enjoy it. They enjoy it because it LOOKS like magic, not because think it IS real magic.

okiskills, i agree with you completely. Its a good thing that magicians reveal the methods of psychics that claim to be real. Magic and illusion is a wonderful thing, wonderful entertainment, but only when the performer admits its and illusion.

There is nothing innocent or 'kind' about these psychics/mediums. They make money from lies and being fakes. They are disgusting. Those who tell people that missing relatives are dead, or pretend to speak to dead relatives in exchange for hundreds of pounds a time, want stringing up. This is the thin end of the wedge. Randi is doing great work.

gsus113 - you're missing the point. Geller has made MILLIONS by deceiving people. claiming he has supernatural powers. He isn't claiming to be a stage magician like David Copperfield, who just does glamorous illusions. That's different. Randi exposes him because Geller claims to be different, to be truly gifted, supernatural. He's a charlatan and needed exposing. He goes after 'psychics' and 'mediums' too. God bless people like Randi.

E.g. entertaining people by earning huge money - but without hurting or offending anybody. Everybody has the right to believe what they want. Would you start explaining the true origin of the Bible to a catholic?

Uri is a third rate 'magician' whose real talent is in convincing people he's psychic. In other words, he's not much different from a con artist. As Randi says, if he hadn't convinced people he was psychic through deceit, he would be one in a million.

Your ruining the act of a kind man that just wants to amaze people. It's not like people start believing in superhuman powers just because a random israeli passes by and bends a spoon.Why don't we start ruining all fun acts by writing a book about it? How does Discovery channel ONLY on tv sound?Just let Uri Geller do his thing. Of course his 'amazing talents' are tricks. No reasonable person believes in superhuman powers. Seems to me Randi is wasting his time.
