This is a piece of music played by a pipe band thats all, it is not an excuse for religious bigotry, its not about North or South, its not a historical piece it just happens to be a Scottish Song written totally by 2 Germans in Berlin some years ago, who likes the sound of Bagpipes and decided to learn to play them and in the process wrote this song. It is totally European and should not be used to address ancient political resurrections, live for today... not the past, you will not change it.

Well said mate. If both the Nationalists and Unionists had not been so extreme in the past, we could have one great Nation; not an island torn in two. We'd have soldiers serving under the Empire; but keeping our country's heritage. This is a fantastic piece of music for a fantastic Regiment. Faugh Ah Ballagh!

I know the history from neolithics onward. My Canadian WWII overseas veteran Grandfather was off famine Irish.I am Catholic.I used to respect Gerry Adams for seemingly supporting the indigenous Irish.TRAITORS ALL !It would have been better to push for peace with all sides and COMPROMISE. I do partially blame the Ornages (e.g. HOME RULE 1914), but perhaps we we've too extreme for them too (ie corrupt Roman Catholics).
