....I could teach my dog to do shatter combos, Evertras has just put a LOT of detail/explaining in this video, making it sound overcomplicated. Summon elemental > start casting frostbolt > freeze just as you finish casting > ice lanceIt's stupidly easyBut it takes skill to maneuver the opponent into a position for shatter combo. That's the hard part.

Err noBoth Frost and Arc/Fire is capable of similar burstWith frost the target NEEDS to be frozen, and it takes a lot of positioning/setting up, but you can pull it off multiple times per matchWith Arc/Fire just have the target Scorch-stacked, at 50% hp a PoM-Pyro + Fireblast is easily enough to finish them off. It's not crit-dependant, pyro can hit ATLEAST 3k normal.

frost does more than fire which i thought was weird at first. and since frost can slow and freeze that makes it more deadly.

Its funny though since I play an alliance human mage and I try my best to play correctly as a mage in PvP it takes a lot of horde players by surprise, I managed to kill 3 horde in a row earlier tonight who were all coming after me, first a warrior, then a rogue then another warrior, and for a few seconds their buddies who came down to help them hesitated before they went after me, felt freaking awesome.

Correct, a moving mage is a living mage. Only ever stop for charge casts, like Frostbolt, Fireball and even scorch, yes thats right scorch, sometimes you find yourself using odd spells to take that last 10% of health off your opponents, and yes PvP is so fast that the cooldowns of 3 second is too long at times.

And lastly you should try to set up macros for this if your not very skilled at microing (aka keyboard/mouse dancing).

Believe me when I say this, this is A LOT harder then it looks, if your into timing, I suggest you do 3 things when you want to be a burst dps player (same can be said for Arms PvP warriors, and also for Retribution Paladins who are also burst dps talents for PvP) is to set up your attack burst to key binds, in a fight against intelligent targets like other players you wont be given the chance to take your time with a mouse. Also you should practice on "dumb" targets like mobs to perfect it.

Mages if they got a brain in their skull usually throw a Frost ward up on themselves when they do it, and if their 0/5/56 they would have a lot of frost resistance anyway, and its because of reflection and resilience PoM/Pyro became a nub's PvP talent build after BC came out. Thanks to Blizzard and their awesome strat to make mages and locks less of an OP class then they are in PvP... not that they were any less powerful then any other class, they just nerfed 1 talent build for both for PvP.
