There's nothing wrong with listening to underground music, either. Just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad. Infact, all of that horrible generic rock that they play on the radio isn't even half as good as the more complex things, such as those with better playing (Dream Theater) or meaningful messages (Skinny Puppy).

The whole song and video is about NIN stealing music from the likes of Skinny Puppy and other great early industrial/electronic bands. Thats why they put him in the video, and in the lyrics Ogre's talking about NIN being "unoriginal". As for Eminem, fuck mainstream music. So the soldier killed him. This is probably my favorite music video ever. Very original and well put together.
