I like this video, but it is comical how they keep showing the band's name as a backdrop. As for the "meaning", I didn't know it was about his mother or whatever. As for "and that Heaven is overrated", I have a t-shirt: "Don't take life so seriously - it isn't permanent". It does sound like someone who went out to 'find herself', though. Cool!

I don't think he is actaully singing about his mothers death. He might have dedicated it to her. But i don't think it is about her but rather the common story of a highschool couple where one goes off to college or what ever and comes back all differant.
