you are mostly righthe was jumping like that in Yosemite National Park but the park randers kicked him out and did not let him take his ropes. so later he decied to sneak in and get his ropes. sadly he decided to take one last jump. sadly that was his last. he did not die in a "controlled free-fall" jump from the Leaning Tower rock formation in Yosemite National Park he died being stupid
