wow I truly been looking for this italian singer for absolute ages. I used listen to it in romania when I was 13. It hits certain nerves for me and it truly takes me back to my latino roots. He is trully special. ciao

Other than bruising many conflicting ideas that Europeans had at the time, this song is actually pretty good...so the only reason why people may not like it are it's lyrics! The melody is catchy and beautiful, typical Italian class!Quit hating y'all.

Good song about Europe, I think that's why it won the EurovisionI love Toto Cutugno's songs

Yes, 1990 was indeed the year of "European" themes - quite natural, with all the cataclysmic events during the previous year and the European Union coming up. One could safely predict that one of these songs was going to win, and I agree that this was - by far - the best of them. However, this doesn't mean that it was the best of its year, since France would have certainly been a worthier winner.

This song has it's own mistic way actually. 1990 was a year where the songs had European issues. Ireland, Austria, Norway had also the European konsept in their songs. So the best of them won. I like this song. Certainly in my archive !!

While Italy was one of my favorite Eurovision nations (please come back!), I don't think this winning song was their finest moment. It is quite characteristic that it didn't become a big hit even in Italy, where it stopped at #10 in the charts. That doesn't mean it's a bad song, though :-)
