I wish someone would post the video from the Academy Awards show where Gene sings "Town Without Pity." I watched it live, but would love to see it just once more! Thanks for this fantastic tribute and concert!

Thank you Stuart. What lovely memories of our Dear Gene. He will always be in our hearts.I was President of his Fan Club here in Oz for 35 years and we still are strong with our Yahoo Group. Gene lives on forever. We love him and he will never be forgottenOceans Away Sue

This is fantastic. Thanks so much Stuart for the whole set of concert videos. Gene Pitney was the first singer (actually the only singer) who made the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I heard him. I first saw him live in Perth and always went to see him when he came to Scotland. Greatly missed. One of my favourites is Sweet Kentucky Rose but I never heard him sing it live.

He was the Man who shot Liberty Vallance, lived in a Town without pity, was only Twenty four hours fom Tulsa and took the Last exit to Brooklyn. Saw him with the Chifoons, Lonnie Mack and a whole bunch of other people in 63.Thanks

saw several of his Dick Clark Shows and just loved the way he would jump off the stage to be close to his fans. He drove the security guys crazy. He was at the Colliseum where they had horse shows. A stage in the middle of the ring and mud around. During one of his songs, he jumped into the ring, mud up to his knees and went to the railing to greet his fans. How can you not love this guy! His voice could pierce my soul. R.I.P. Gene. You are sadly missed.Christine...Syracuse, NY

What a voice. What great lyrics. Gene Pitney is definitely unique in many regards. I truly appreciated hearing these again. Thank you.

Almost none of the Sixties singers were able, years later, to retain the vocal purity, clarity, range, and power of their youth. Gene Pitney came closest. Some consider Roy Orbison the crown prince of pop pathos, but I believe the laurels have to go to Pitney who was a better lyricist and vocalist than even the great O. His "Half Heaven Half Heartache" is the definitive song of agonized love. A great artist.

Yes, we were lucky, we will miss him. But, he shared his success with others, around the world &i n our area he did a Concert to benefit the local high school Band & Choir/Chorus raise fund for their Musical needs. He started his career singing in High School Glee CLub & band.
