CHAMINADE Concertino for flute and piano, part
Cecile Louise Stephanie Chaminade (August 8, 1857 -- April 13, 1944) was a French composer and pianist. During her lifetime she enjoyed world-wide popularity as the most productive, most successful woman composer and that record still holds. She was the first woman composer to be awarded the French Legion of Honor.Sesile was born in Paris in 1857. She began composing at the age of eight. She studied music with private tutors (Godard, Le Couppey, Marsick and Savard) and gave her first piano concert when she was eighteen years old. She continued to tour extensively throughout her life, also playing in the United States in 1908. Her music, by then, had become quite popular in France, and she had been appointed Officer of Public Instruction. She composed nearly 400 works, and most of them were published in her lifetime. Her most popular works were her piano pieces and songs ("melodies") as well as Concertino for Flute & Orchestra in D major(1902) Op. 107Concertino was performed by Aleksandar Dzhambazov (flute) on 18 May 2008 in Uster, Switzerland.

great technique and nice tone! only thing I'd suggest is be more expressive, use a more prominent vibrato. :] |
