Is it me or does Mike look really bored in this video?

I had this song stuck in my head like for the whole day.

There's also a pre Moog version available on iTunes now - bass is slightly less prevalent on this version - interesting to hear

Cool. Thanks for your reply. I have always wondered what it was about but was never able to find any info. I appreciate your help.

Hi Marx, The story came directly from Andrew Sandovals book The Monkees Day to Day History. It is first listed in May 1966 when they hired the attorney but the paperwork was filed on 9/7/66 after the show aired,it was a huge $ amount in 1966. After the Monkees Projet took off they settled with the producers out of court, I would recomend this book for anybody that wants to know the real story about these guys and the music around them. E-hollywood story & Wilkepedia does not due it any justice

I looked for information on this claim and found none. Do you have a link to this story? I still say that the idea that The Monkees personalities were mirror images of the Beatles doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Actually, that's still way off. Mickey played guitar (Which I'm pretty sure is an instrument) with a band called ironically enough The Missing Links. Peter Tork played multiple instruments extremely well including the piano, guitar and banjo well before he auditioned for the show. Come on guys, this is information easily available on the web. Can't we get past the nonsense that these guys were empty vessels for the music.

But was it his idea, Although Bert & Bob have said the series was original, David Gordon & David Yarnell bring legal action for 6,850,000against 14 parties including Screen Gems, RCA, both producers and the series sponsors Kellogs & Yardley when the show airs. There claim showed the series was a virtual carbon copy of a show they pitched to Screen Gems in October 1964 called Liverpool USA, Screen Gems played with the idea but officailly turned it down 5 1/2 months later. Kinda makes you wonder

Lol. That was funny. But very true. At one point they all became 'True musicians'. Not just Mike no offense to him.
