Today, I learnt that my best friend was killed three months ago by police officer using tasers. He was not a violent man. He checked himself into a mental institution the previous night for depression, and decided he was done the following morning. The facility called the cop to cover their ass about not knowing if he was a danger to himself or the community. Because he refused to talk to the police, they tased him four times. yvr got some set of volunteers there. they do not work nights or weekends. why the hell are they there then? isnt that what being a volunteer is being able to volunteer your time especially for emergency purposes? vancouver is a big spot but it does not take 10 hours to get a translator in through the doors.
