>esperanto? not before they learn it!Right! Time and effort of learning is the main obstacle to a language being widely understood. That's why Esperanto was intvented: to create a language that is easy to learn but as effective as English, Spanish, etc.

And I do not spare that much time to adress the man, as I do not remember exactly where, but I can take one as example,'90 percent of the continental europeans do not understand a simple sample of everyday english'then what is the language that could be widely understood? esperanto? not before they learn it!(of course do not address the language background here.)

-The aim of Esperanto is to create a language that is as efficient as natural languages, but extremely transferrable.Yes, but my point is, we do not seem to need world language that much.. I got no problem learning languages, easier or harder, but esperanto would be among the last ones... a language so ugly...

Yet you just re-asked the questions, rather than address the man's "ridiculous" answers.

Yeah you can always find answers to questions... Point is that most of them are always ridiculous.

>or why don't all the natural languages appear regular and simple orBecause natural languages are not very transferrable. The aim of Esperanto is to create a language that is as efficient as natural languages, but extremely transferrable. If there is ever going to be a world language, it must inevitably be a second language. And Esperanto is the most transferrable of all second languages.~

>Why do we have to turn to another language?Did you not listen to the video? The man speaking answers all these question.~
vidaregaaende (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Besides, why do you guys trying to spread this language worldwide??To me, it is something experimental, and we can construct a lot more, and actually, there ARE more... And nowadays we already have languages like English and a few others widely used in international or interlingual communications, due to historical reasons or whatever. Why do we have to turn to another language? And if not, why do we have to learn another?

Let me explain a little more. Yes Esperanto is precise as you said. And it can be useful. But i did not argue on that. I argued that 'the more you learn it, the more stupid you become'. We do not really need something like Esperanto, or why don't all the natural languages appear regular and simple or, people haven't made them that way? To me esperanto is like 'Dolly', a 'sheep' but has much defects even pre-born... And the Esperanto growing in your mind is boring... |
