i guess this is someone's interpretation of the flashbacks in "the killing joke", which I believe was the first DC comic that tried to give the Joker an origin story. It was written shortly before the first Michael Keaton Batman movie. The joker had nothing to do with the death of Bruce Wayne's parents.

Oh, I'm quite aware that the movie is just one interpretation. I was merely explaining to emmeenchanted that he was incorrect: the flashbacks were in the first Batman movie by Burton... not the sequel.
