It wasn't finished by Salieri. It was finished by a student of his named Franz Xaver Süssmayr. I think Mozart wrote till the Lacrimosa and then the student finished!

That's a mistake presented in the "Amdeus" movie. Salieri wasn't the person that finishes Mozart's Requiem, this work was done by his student Franz Xaver Sussmyer. Mozart had finished the Dies Irae, Introito and Kyrie, and left choral and instrumental parts for the Domine Jesu and agnus dei. The only part Sussmyer did totally was the sanctus, and he used the introito and kyrie themes for the comunio.

I understand that Mozart was visited by death before he could finished this piece (Requiem) and that Salieri finished it . how far did Mozart get before he died in other words ,how much of it is Salieri and how much of it is Mozart ,I care because its my favorite from Mozart. Any one care to tell ??thank you .
