Whitmer won a NC that year because they changed the rules and only weighed in once at the start of the tourney instead of every day of the tourney. If he would have had to cut weight all through the tourney Morgan would have beat him for the third time.

How do you defend against a guy that always wants to go double underhooks?!Whitmer was a monster at 118. He could flat out scrap!That was the most satisfying championship for Iowa I ever witnessed.
