They would be Hells Angels on Aeriel's motorcycle with a four cylinder engine with the cylinders configured in a square.

Del McCoury's version is very different from RT's. Both are excellent renditions. I'll bet RT is honored to have Del(and many other artists)cover his songs. Top notch Bluegrass musicians are among the finest and most talented in the world. But I don't believe they can teach RT anything about picking.

what are the angels on, square fours?

Yeah, too many damned syllables.

I just saw Richard Thompson in a small outdoor theatre in Lowell MA. Man, just he and his acoustic guitar for 2 hours blew the roof off the sky. His playing so rich and dynamic, his voice soft and then roaring, crying and laughing and sneering---and so down to earth a guy as well, full of jokes and warm exchanges with the audience. A true poet---and he plays like almost nobody I've ever seen, a style so unique and traditional at the same time....Wow. Wow.

I think it is really interesting to hear the original version of the song. I like both.

And the song sounds terrible. You clearly don't know music. I play in a bluegrass band with that "shitty banjo" and I sing badly according to you. Listen here, jerk. You don't know music.

This guy wrote the song, del just copied him. And i like to be able to hear and understand what he is singing about. Atleast this version doesnt have a fucking fiddle or a shitty little banjo in it.

Del is better...this guy pronounces every stupid syllable

I would say that Richard is actually one of the top 10 guitarists in the world. He is unique as rock guitarists go, though, because most of the guitar heroes are blues-based, while Richard's style has that Celtic-drone quality that hearkens back to his Scottish heritage |
