Actually, it was written in 1925. In Cleveland. That's not quite holocaust. You're right that it's a powerfully spiritual and emotional piece, but "sad" doesn't quite capture what the prayer is about.

i played this in orchestra when i was 15, it made me cry. it made the cello solo guy cry. it made everybody cry. beautiful.

Listen to Gary Karr play it on the double bass, it is more emotionally powerful than on any cello.

watch your intonation. also, your vibrato is tight. this causes the high notes to sound harsh rather than sweet. good job though!

This is one of my favorite pieces. I just have one critisism about your performance which is you need to put more emotion into the song. It's supposed to make you weep. He wrote it during the time of the Holocaust. So you can imagin it was supposed to be a sad piece. But over all it is a great performance.

it was very good, some high notes were a little bit out of tune like the high E at the beginning, but it was really good!!! |
