Segovia tocaba muy bonito no se niega, pero fue un egoista total con barrios mangore y eso porque barrios lo superaba facilmente en la ejecucion de las obras. Como prueba del egoismo un boton: busquen por internet una obra de barrios tocada por Segovia. Creo que no la encontraran.

Technically he was one of the greatest players of the guitar, but isn't it a shame to have devoted one's whole life to the instrument and not to have made a major impact through HIS OWN music. (and yes, I know he wrote some stuff, and his Remembranza is very good) For this reason I prefer a figure like Barrios to Segovia. And by the way, Paco de Lucia is the best guitar player ever to live.

The greatest thing about Segovia is that he ressurected and re-invented this whole genre of music. I don't think he was that great a player compared to those he inspired who came later, but without him, we woud never have heard any of this most glorious and subtle music. So yeah, he is the king of classical/spanish guitar.
