I'm fully aware of Morrello's awesomeness, but just to correct you...he wasn't a studio drummer, but the drummer for the Dave Brubeck Quartet, one of the greatest small jazz groups ever. Not many can do a drum solo in 5/4 time like he did on the live version of Take 5... Incredible...Just to comment on Hampton, his vibe playing overshadowed what an awesome drummer he was. He easily was an equal to Rich and Krupa.

There is another drummer who is just as good, please check out Joe Morrello 1961 solo, awesome one handed rolls. Mind blowing..you will all enjoy his talent. Studio Drummer.
