Even so it doesn't make sence nowadays!!!!I would make sence 200 ago when Thomas Jefferson was president: It exised basically 2"Americas": the Eastern, 13 original colonies America and the Western America recently explored by Lewis and Clark.

because they use it to divide the country between the little states and the big states when teaching elementary school kids. So kids watching the cartoon would get the connection.
