its not so much that it was awesome and fun, antichrist. we've got the same drugs they did back then, and a little searching can still get you good music and talent. the thing that made the 60s was the movement of people towards a common good--freedom and love in the face of oppression and war from the pigs. it was a feeling of a sort of spiritual manifest destiny, that good and freedom would win. read thompson's Fear and Loathing, he talks about all that a bit.
