This man is my inspiration. I have been drawing and painting since I was very little...my favourite styles are silhouetting and medieval illumination. When I learned that I am highly likely to lose my sight, I didn't think I'd ever get to paint when I became blind, but if John can do it, so can I! I almost cried when I saw this, because it brings so much inspiration to me.

i started making paintings 13 years ago i cant see very well but i will always paint i think ,god puts a special touch i believe in artists heart .i have bi polar and arthritis and painting helped me keep my sanity .i am in pain but art helps you get your mind off of the pain some,you are a gift to the art world god bless you and always keep at this passion god gave you

He can feel the outlines he makes, so he can feel where to put the rest of the outlines. He couldn't do that with pencil.

What's really amazing is how he can get the spatial distances and relationships of objects right... I mean, if you close your eyes and try to draw, even something really simple, it usually ends up way off. He must be able to make incredible mental images of things...

My girlfriend is blind, so I get an idea of what it's like. I watched the news item on John, fantastic work =)

I feel for this guy, I am legally blind and I'm not sure what I would do if I were to lose eye sight.
