That was from wikipedia below. I am 100% polish, but Pawel Janas made a huge mistake by underestimating Podolski. There are a few videos in Polish calling Podolski a traitor when they don't understand the whole story.

By that time Podolski was still interested in representing Poland, but as the season progressed more and more German media started to suggest to call up the striker to their national team"

Polish media suggested then-Polish national team coach Paweł Janas to check Podolski out, as he was still eligible to play for Poland. Janas ignored the request stating in one of the press interviews that "as for today we have much better strikers in Poland and I don't see a reason to call up a player just because he played one or two good matches in the Bundesliga. He's not even a regular starter at his club."

It seems that he makes lesser faults when he speaks Polish also when he is half a german guy and half a Polish!!!

There are moments that Lukasz sounds 100% fluent in Polish; there moments that he uses a word with a little different meaning than needed. Overall, he is 100 % understandable by a native speaker. I do not speak German, but I can tell that Lukasz speaks better German than Klose. Klose does not sound native to me at all. I heard that Klose is 100% fluent in Polish although he does not want to give any interviews in his native language. That's the path he has chosen & I respect that.

Thanks for the translation! Yes, Lukasz makes some mistakes. A linguistic genius is he not exactly. There are many German wordplays, or jokes about him and his linguistic manner, but I find it gives the worse! Looks at itself just of Kevin Kuranyi! However, I always thought that Lukas controls his mother tongue perfectly. Dead loss. But he has already said some witty things, for example, "Now the heads must be rolled up... and the sleeves!" (properly translates?) Not only grammatical mistakes. |
