Holy shit! I saw this video (the real one, that is--not sure why someone posted this still-screen accompaniment) once when I was a kid--20 or 25 years ago--and I've never forgotten it. But it's been so long, I wasn't really sure if the song existed or if it was an old dream I'd never forgotten. Seriously, finding this on here just answered a question that's floated in my subconscious for most of my life.

Like I said, Mr. Black, heed my advice and then get back to me. Thank you

Lyrics: Why can't you be like Endicott? (answer) Because I'm free. Free of any made to order liability. Thank God I'm free. 'Cause it's hard enough just to take care of me... He's just happy to be single. He admires Endicott, but doesn't want to BE him. That's all.

Hey Idiot, I AM a black man. Not all of us are looking for racism at every turn. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. Just not in something as insignificant as this music video. Kid Creole is Black. His stage show had a multi-ethnic cast. Race is not an issue here. Lighten up.

I feel that you need to talk to black men about this topic, and I would recommend you take a Black History course, or read a history book about Black people. If you really want to enhance your learning, learn about all races and cultures if possible. |
