I have the 45, and I think it was 1978. I just checked the 45, and it was 1978. I was only about 4 then (born in 1974), and that song was the "A" side to a song that Lil Kim and Yvette Michelle sampled -"Was It Something That I Said". Sylvester is still a legend and icon.
