Robert Patrick is great, but when it comes down to it, David and Gillian made the show. It's like a jenga block. You loose one and they all come tumbling down.

Film itself wasn't bad at all obviously. However the actual plot was more like an ordinary series. It does not necessarily have to have an aliens, but it has to have higher level of mysteriousness and be more scalable. First X-Files movie is a good benchmark to measure against.
