I saw this production when this was new and think that this is fab - Kiri is in her best, freshest voice - at the Met she was not so fresh despite being alongside Domingo, who was marvelous of course.....

In general, and again in my humble opinion, the MET production is superior. All the characters seem more real. Here, I felt the performers were not performing but just singing and that's evident in the love duets... they seem everything but in love.

I love him!! Sir George is... amazing!, so sweet!!And she... She's she!!, with her unique velvet voice...Completely agree about the MET production! I don't know very well Agache's voice or work but, about the main character, I guess I still prefer Chernov...Thanks!! ;D* |
