Jeg er så glad jeg fikk oppleve dette fantastiske svenske bandet live på en av deres gjenforenings-konserter i Olavshallen i Trondheim i 1996

There we have a translation. I'm afraid I had to apply some artistic license, but I think it works fairly well. Oh, and the first verse appears to be the third and the third the first. My bad :)

Victor Jara, your songs will echo in the dephts of the minesAnd like ripe fruits shall they be among the trees of the plantationsLike swaying barley shall they billow over the fieldsAnd like fish in the water will they caught in the nets of the fishermenAye, Victor Jara, Victor Jara your songs shan't be forgottenFrom guitar to guitar shall they fly over towns and countriesThey will be our lullabies when the nights are longAnd they will march along with us, when the day has come

But if the future is like a tree that has been plantedAnd freedom akin to a rose, most frail and delicateMust our weapons be good in defense of that which is weakWe must protect it against those who would destroy that which buds and flourishesThose who despair say that death is equal for allBut it would be truer to say that one can die in the way that one has livedAnd to die just for profit carries the weight of a featherBut to die for one's people carries the weight of a rock

There are many who play only for those in powerAnd there are many who submit just for crumbs from the tables of the eliteBut you chose your path and sang for the manyYou ignored the promises of the mighty and the ruling class' threatsVictor Jara you brought life to the prisoners' longing for freedomTo those suffering you brought hope of a future where only the people would ruleAnd you gave courage and strenght to dreams of those oppressedBut for the plutocracy you sang of despise

De e fel skivomslag, sista versen (med sädesfälten) har den bästa poesin. Det övriga är gammal hederlig socialist/revolutions-retorik av välkänt slag. Mysigt flöjt riff!
