Ohhhh now you went and done it!I told Stevie what you said and he's pretty sure he's pissed. He said he's gonna look into it. LOLI actually have seen the solo, but it was a whole back. I'm gonna go check it out now.If I laugh you're to blame.(You hear that God? It's all Trueleadership's fault)

Have you seen Stevie Wonder's drum solo? That's hilarious. I mean, not because he's blind, but because he uses so much humor in his music.

It really is here nor there for me personally. We are all entitled to our opinions obviously.I can respect your thoughts however as they do seem to have some credence in this case.I'm a drummer too and I see what you're saying.I was of course being more sardonic than anything. In any regard peace and be well....

Yeah, that was me. I said 'lacks fluidity' Clearly he's an accomplished musician, I was simply critiquing this performance -I'm not a hater, I'm a drummer, and I was practicing along with Morello's stickwork in another video when I came across this rather mediocre clip. I'd agree with MarkR1957 here. All due respect, etc. etc.

I was only responding to someone who made a negative comment about this guy.He said that Joe wasn't playing with any emotion so I was defending him.
MarkR1957 (August 14, 2008 at 3:48 pm)
We should understand that when this was recorded, Joe was in his 70's.Sure, this was not Joe's best preformance, BUT, in his prime there were FEW who could match him for style, class, technique, and Swing.Joe was one of the best drummers of all time, and really has nothing to prove to anyone. He is a humble guy who always takes the time to help others, and has rightfully earned his status as a true Legend of Jazz ~

Milford Graves is also 284 years old but is still probably the world's greatest drummer.
Symmetry44 (August 13, 2008 at 11:23 pm)
With all due respect the guy is like 284 years old.I'm sure that he could play with the necessary emotion if he were still a younger man. He's come a long way baby, as they say! LOL
