Gotcha! I appreciate the info., too - and agree completely about how "mainstream" music can be extremely creative. :)

Absolutely...I meant The 5th discovered the song while being performed by Sivuca in the play "Joy"...what's cool is how mainstream Pop-Soul can turn a whole new audience onto the genius of Sivuca and Oscar Brown, Jr., too (who wrote the play). I always smile in recognition when I hear their historic performances on my local Jazz stations. Best & blessings.

Hey, I think Sivuca was discovered a long time before he ever came to the US. ;)

The Grammy-Award winning group, The 5th Dimension discovered Sivuca perfoming this in Oscar Brown Jr's play, JOY and had it wonderfully arranged by Bob Alcivar & Bones Howe for their '72 album, "Individually and Collectively." The song is titled SKY & SEA and the album was recently re-issued on CD. The 5th Dimension perform it as an aptly joyful yet complex 5 part harmony wordless vocalese. It's one of original group member Marilyn McCoo's favorites to this day! From "Forever 5th Dimension"
