Do you think its merely the fact that "he doesn't want anyone else to have her?" or "she gives his life meaning and she offers stability". Either way I can't see the point of view that Elaine actually at any point wanted to marry the other guy. Maybe they offered each other balance stability/instability. I hate to think love, true love can only exist under perfect pretense. Either way I think the lessons of Mrs. Robinson, shows that lust is not a relationship, and he did show he wanted more.

Take notes, this is how you end a romantic comedy. Perfect. I love the church scene. It goes from an extremely emotional scene...ELAINEEEE. To, Ben swinging the cross at the family. That was genius.

when watching both faces of the characters, sitting in the back of the bus, at the very end of the movie..... man.....that was very confusing. are they happy now, or do they regret their behaviour? to me, it seemed like a conscious well added effect from the producers, particularly adepted to that state of past; something like: keep your roots, and never dare to brake out! YAK :-( |
