Just because Afrikaans music isn't big in the English speaking world, doesn't mean it isn't big in Europe. Stef Bos & Helmut Lotti have both sold millions of albums, both featuring Afr songs. U or I may not buy them, but loads of people do. Royal Marines have used Sarie Marais as a marching song since the Boer War, and still do in Afganistan. And on the French slur, have you never heard of Jacques Brel or Edith Piaf? U may not think this is Bok's best work, but careful of sweeping statements.
